Some people say that true English is spoken only in Great Britain and what the Americans speak is another language entirely.While this is an exaggeration , there are some differences between American English and British English.Here is a list of British words with their American equivalent.

In England you walk on the pavement (acera), but in the U.S you walk on the sidewalk.In England to go from one city to another you take a coach, in America you take a bus.
