Todmorden town lies 17 miles North-East of Manchester.A few years ago a group of people decided to invent something that would perhaps make their town better, perhaps make more people aware of the importance of the environment but do it by talking about local food. Everybody has got to eat and this seemed a simple method to unite people. So they started planting vegetables in municipal
tubs (
jardineras) by the bus stop , on the railway platform, at the school, in the cemetery, outside the doctor's office... Their goal was to inspire others to start growing vegetables wherever they could.
